It has been said that our society has consumed more natural resources in the past 100 years than in all of man’s previous existence combined. However, for over 170 years and through five generations of family ownership, Harden Furniture has upheld a tradition of environmental stewardship. By employing its own Forestry Team and adhering to environmentally-sound principles and proven silviculture methods, Harden has been practicing responsible environmental policy since before the Industrial Revolution. Not only is the Harden family five generations old, but many Harden employees have five generations of historical roots in the company. Why such loyalty? From the very beginning, founder Charles S. Harden Sr.’s concern for his employees and the village in which they lived was reflected in the construction of churches, a community house, and several homes for the employees – in a very distinct way, a sustainable community before it’s time. That groundbreaking pioneer spirit was evident in the Harden family long before a single piece of furniture was ever produced. Find out more here

Eleven years ago, Loloi Rugs was a company with four employees, a small office in Dallas, Texas, and an idea. We believed that innovative design, an eye for detail, and a commitment to craft could produce truly distinctive rugs. Loloi didn’t set out to become just another rug company, not even the biggest. Instead, we wanted to be pioneers—to design and handcraft the world’s most original rugs.
Today, Loloi has hundreds of employees, multiple warehouses, and thousands of products. We have brought our vision to an array of home accents, including pillows. And we have earned the trust of dealers worldwide as well as the respect of industry insiders, winning more awards than any other rug company in the last decade. The only thing that hasn’t changed is our commitment to that first revolutionary idea. And, in 11 years, we have built a global family of designers and dealers, craftsmen and consumers who share our belief that only home accent worth making and having is one that is uncompromisingly original. The Simply Amish story began in the 1970s, when bellbottoms and short shorts could be spotted just about everywhere — except in good Amish homes. Across the nation, a new age of convenience had arrived. Microwave ovens were becoming common-place, and fashion-forward housewives were ordering the latest kitchen appliances in a wide range of deceptively tasteful sounding colors, like Avocado Green and Harvest Gold. But in a time of rapid change and progress, no one in the city could buy a beautiful piece of Amish furniture without a long trip to the country. Until a couple of guys from the country came up with a novel idea.
It all started in 1979, when Kevin Kauffman and his brothers joined their dad to learn the finer points of furniture construction on their family farm. Putting his experience to good use, Kevin soon joined forces with his uncle, John Mast, to start a company that would pursue a much larger vision. Together, the two partners eventually linked an entire network of traditional Amish workshops with a modern distribution system, and furniture lovers everywhere rejoiced. Find out more here
